What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy releases tension in the body to promote relaxation and healing. It explores the subtle connection between the physical, emotional, and mental aspects.

Understanding the Craniosacral System

Discover the craniosacral system, a delicate network consisting of the skull, spine, and sacrum. This system, housing the essential cerebrospinal fluid, plays a crucial role in the proper functioning of your body.

Process of a Craniosacral Therapy Session

During a craniosacral therapy session, the therapist uses gentle, non-invasive techniques to assess and improve the movement of cerebrospinal fluid.

This gentle approach helps to release emotional blockages, reduce tension, and restore the natural mobility of physical structures: bones and tissues.

Throughout the session, the patient often experiences profound relaxation, promoting the reduction of stress and anxiety. Craniosacral therapy can also help alleviate headaches, physical pain, and improve sleep quality.

    Benefits of Craniosacral Therapy

  • Stress and Anxiety Reduction:

By promoting the regulation of the nervous system, craniosacral therapy helps to reduce stress and anxiety levels.
  • Improved Sleep:

The relaxation induced by craniosacral therapy can promote deeper and more restorative sleep.
  • Headache and Migraine Relief:

By releasing tensions in the skull, it can alleviate headaches and migraines.
  • Immune System Strengthening:

By optimizing the functioning of the craniosacral system, this approach can contribute to strengthening the immune system.
  • Emotional and Mental Balance:

By releasing physical tensions, craniosacral therapy can also have positive effects on emotional and mental balance.

My Journey

After completing my physiotherapy studies in Girona (Spain), I discovered that in physiotherapy education, we are not optimally prepared for the mental or emotional stress of patients. As a result, I was drawn to craniosacral therapy because this method focuses on the direct link between emotional state and physical symptoms.

I took the basic craniosacral course at the International Craniosacral Academy (ICSA) in Salzburg (Austria). I specialize in visceral craniosacral therapy, which is highly beneficial for patients with chronic and unclear back pain and can be well-integrated into physiotherapy.

When I emigrated to Switzerland in July 2020, it was clear to me that I needed to obtain the Oda KT industrial certificate. That's why I was able to deepen my knowledge of this method. I delved into specific techniques, such as cranial nerve work, support during pregnancy, and social engagement at the Colorado Institute and Apamed (Zurich/Jona).

These learned techniques expand my professional skills, for example, in dealing with migraines, tinnitus, burnout, ADHD, and much more.
